Bulk Density System – BDS™

The BDS™ primarily measures the actual bulk density in all kinds of dry products. The dry product can be both hot or cold and for example pelleted, extruded or powder products. The BDS™ is placed at key stages of your production line, where the fully automatic technology eliminates manual resources for sampling and measuring. The analysed product stays untouched, and can be returned into your product flow. This way avoiding wasting product.

With a high frequency of analysis every minute, you can eliminate weight consistency problems. Your product weight stays under control all the way to the end of the line, eliminationg over- or under-filled bags. The high frequency data also gives you superior control over your essential processing equipment’s ongoing performance, such as, for example, extruders. Detected variations can possibly mean mechanical failure.

The BDS can be fitted with a selection of secondary analysis:

• A moisture index module, that measures variations in the moisture percentage of the bulk product, which can prevent poor mouth-feel and packages with “clumped” product. The BDS™ gives you density and moisture analysis every minute.
• Visual product control is also a possibility with an addition of a camera sensor and collection of images for manual inspection.
• Finally, a temperature sensor can be installed. It can, for example, help you monitor significant temperature variations in your production line, which effects bulk density measurements. Or it can secure that the product is cooled down and ready for packaging.
